Putting it in print

One of my main motivating factors in becoming a photographer was to make sure that families printed the memories I capture for them. In this day and age, we are too quick to snap away and leave pictures to gather dust on USBs, in Google Photos or within email. There's something beautiful about flicking through printed pictures, thumbing a photo album or admiring a framed portrait on the wall.

I openly admit when I was expecting my eldest, I was pretty excited to get newborn photos taken of him. I loved everything about the experience, and I was buzzing the day I received the prints in the mail. I instantly knew that I had to keep it going.

I decided that we would have family photos taken every year in autumn as it is my favourite time of year. Apart from the beautiful colours of autumnal leaves, I love the temperature, the change in day light savings and all those winter activities like Saturday rugby. These are the things that I wanted to celebrate each year for my family. When we had the photos done, our family of 3 were living in a 30sqm studio which meant very little in the way of wall space for framed portraits. I was also not great at choosing my favourites to have enlarged or framed. So I decided on a photo album - and I am so glad I did!

We've since had 2 more family photo sessions done (with the wonderful Jess from Jessica Jellick Photography) and I buy the same Queensberry album each time. They sit in pride of place on our piano, and are flicked through very regularly. Barry absolutely loves seeing how little he was as a baby, or remembering our dogs.

All my packages include some form of printed product produced by the New Zealand company Queensberry - whether it be 10 x 8 Matted Lustre Prints in the Mini Session, 8 x 8 copper linen Photo Album in the Deluxe session or 8 x 8 outback brown leather Photo Album (pictured below) in the Ultimate Session. These come included in the package, however, I am more than happy to customise anything if you are after something a bit different.

You can also add on any Queensberry printing to any session after receiving your gallery by easily clicking the image into your shopping cart. Simple!

Get those pictured printed, you will never regret it.
